Financial Inclusion Compass survey 2022: share your views on the future of the sector

Back in 2018, e-MFP launched the first Financial Inclusion Compass, a new annual publication series to collate sector opinions on emerging short, medium and long-term trends in the financial inclusion sector.

The Compass has grown to be one of the most important ways of taking the ‘pulse’ of the sector, gathering forecasts and concerns from the present to the longer-term future. It leverages e-MFP’s unique role and gives practitioners, investors, donors, academics and support service providers the opportunity to evaluate and describe the importance of various current Trends, rate and give opinions on New Areas of Focus, and provide open-comment qualitative input on the expected (and hoped-for) direction of financial inclusion progress.

This fifth edition of the e-MFP Compass survey builds on last year’s survey with new questions, trends and priority areas, based on research and feedback from e-MFP’s amazing network. So, there are new trends and priority areas to evaluate - on financial health, strategic responses to climate change, impact evaluation and new financial technologies such as machine learning, cryptocurrencies and blockchain, among others. In this way, the Compass continues to balance the desire to compare year-on-year developments, with ensuring it is truly asking the most relevant questions to the sector. It provides a unique crowdsourced perspective on where we are – and where we’re going.

We hope you’ll take the time to participate, and please feel free to forward the survey link to contacts or colleagues who can also provide valuable insight. The survey is open from 11th May and will close at 23:59 CEST on 7th June.
