Giz's purpose is to promote international cooperation for sustainable development. As a federal enterprise we support the german government in achieving its development policy objectives. We support our partner at local, regional, national and international level in designing strategies and meeting their policy goals. In doing this we are always guided by the concept of sustainable development and take account of political, economic, social and ecological factors. Giz operates in many fields: economic development and employment promotion, food security, health and basic education, governance and democracy, security, reconstruction and peace and environment and climate change.
