WEBINAR: Supporting Managers in their HRD Role

12 Sept 2022

The second webinar in this series, hosted by the ILO's Social Finance Programme on lessons learned from the e-MFP HR AG's survey and voices from the field

The e-MFP Human Resources Action Group in collaboration with the ILO's Social Finance Programme, is organising a series of four webinars throughout September and October 2022. We are going to share the results of a survey on HRD practices and discuss the following topics with microfinance practitioners: aligning HRD and business strategy (6 September), supporting managers in their HRD role (22 September) and equal opportunities for women (October).

Following the success of the first webinar, the second in the series, hosted by the ILO's Social Finance Programme, takes place on 22 September (15:00 CEST) and focuses on supporting managers in their HRD role.

One of the priority topics for financial service providers that emerged from last year's survey on human resource development practices, was how to help managers across hierarchies and functional areas in financial institutions recruit, support, and mentor their staff – in short HR guidance for managers outside the HR department.

During the webinar, Patricia Richter of the ILO's Social Finance Programme will summarise key actions emerging from last year's survey based on input from 195 financial service providers globally. Then senior managers from FUBODE IFD (Bolivia), Al Majmoua (Lebanon) and ASKI (Philippines) will share their HR practices and lessons learned from successfully developing a strong in-house system of HR practices into their staff management processes.

Speakers:

  • Patricia Richter, ILO's Social Finance Programme

  • Roberto Ríos, FUBODE IFD (Bolivia)

  • Alia Farhat, Al Majmoua (Lebanon)

  • Joy Santos, ASKI (Philippines)
