Join e-MFP members Symbiotics and the Finance and Development (FinDev) research group of the University of Bergamo during a webinar on 6 November which will explore current best practice in Technical Assistance.
Many impact investors and fund managers such as e-MFP member Symbiotics recognise that, in order to enhance the development impacts of their investments, there is need to build the capacity of investees to bridge knowledge gaps and ensure adherence with sectors’ best practices and principles. The capacity building takes the form of technical assistance grants to support invested financial institution to develop new products to reach under-served markets and generate both social impact (through expanded financial inclusion) and commercial impact (through customer acquisition and increased revenues).
Over the years, Technical Assistance has experience diverse levels of success in its endeavours to contribute to financial inclusion and generate broader developmental and social impact. As the sector has evolved, so too have the approaches and methodologies, resulting in discernible lessons learned and the accumulation of knowledge base that is progressing towards what can now be defined as best practice in Technical Assistance.
The webinar is hosted by e-MFP member the Finance and Development (FinDev) research group of the University of Bergamo.
Presenter:
Bezant Chongo, Head of Capacity Building at Symbiotics, will be sharing his experience and that of Symbiotics from the past 12 years of successfully delivering TA projects with financial institutions in emerging markets across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
