Since 2006, the European Microfinance Award (€100,000 prize) which is jointly organised by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) and the Inclusive Finance Network Luxembourg (InFiNe.lu), has supported innovative thinking in the microfinance sector. Each year, the focus is on a different topic and we encourage the sector to push ahead towards new frontiers. The Award serves two parallel goals: highlighting and rewarding MFIs that innovate in areas that are important to the sector, and at the same time collecting and then disseminating the most relevant practices developed by these MFIs, so that they can be replicated by others.
