6th European Research Conference on Microfinance

New Tools, New Actors: Which aims, values and beneficiaries?

University of Paris-Dauphine, Paris, France
3rd - 5th June 2019

CALL FOR PAPERS

This 2019 edition of the European Research Conference on Microfinance, co-organised by the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement, Montpellier Business School and Paris Dauphine University in cooperation with the European Microfinance Platform, will focus on the challenges of industrialisation and massification, which have been fuelled by the increasing use of new technologies as supposedly efficient instruments for fostering financial inclusion worldwide. These new technologies have brought unprecedented opportunities, including cost reduction and the penetration of isolated areas. But they also present unparalleled risks, including issues of privacy, the use of big data for commercial purposes, and a loss of face-to-face relationships. The spectrum of financial inclusion has also been observably widening. It now associates public transfers with various basic services such as water, sanitation and health. Given the massification and diversification of supply, it’s crucial to consider what the underlying missions and objectives may be.

A Call for Papers has been launched with the following conference topics:

  • Digital Finance
  • Microfinance in Developed Countries
  • Public & Social Policies
  • Local & Rural Development
  • Microfinance & Financial Inclusion

Important Dates:
Extended abstracts or full papers (if available) submission deadline is extended to 15th February 2019.
Acceptance notice: 15th of March 2019
Full paper submission: 15th of April 2019
