Assessing environmental performance of MFIs - Take the Survey!
The European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) is the leading network of European organizations and individuals active in the financial inclusion sector in developing countries. e-MFP fosters activities which increase global access to affordable, sustainable, and inclusive financial services for the un(der)banked by driving knowledge-sharing, partnership development and innovation. As part of its activities, e-MFP encourages members to join forces on specific projects or activities on common areas of interest through Action Groups (AG).
The Green Inclusive and Climate Smart Finance (GICSF) AG was created in 2013 with the objective of raising awareness for the challenges related to inclusive finance and environment, improving knowledge and action of inclusive finance actors in dealing with environmental issues and enhancing cooperation among green inclusive finance actors. One of its main projects is to develop tools to measure the environmental performance of microfinance institutions.
The AG developed the Green Index in 2014. Since then, two versions have been released and we are planning to launch a third version by 2021. To this end, GICSF Action Group is developing a survey among investors to help us to understand the needs towards environmental performance and relevance of indicators for upgrading the Green Index. This study is part of our joint project between eMFP/ Green AG and SPTF/CERISE to update GI and create a DIM 7 to the Universal Standards.
Thank you for your availability to contribute to the survey.
