The University Meets Microfinance (UMM) workshop in Bergamo, 'Enhancing food security and resilience to climate change: what role for microfinance?', will bring together practitioners, academics and students working on financial inclusion topics. It will be an important venue to debate about the relationship between climate change, food security and microfinance. Innovative financial services and processes will be presented and discussed in order to understand their potential to mitigate the impact of climate change on smallholder farmers and ensure food security for their families. The workshop will include a dynamic and highly interactive program with hot topic presentations and debates, panel sessions, poster exhibits, and student research presentations. There will also be a special session dedicated to financial services tailored to crops highlighted during the Expo Milano 2015.
