Action Plan

Activities planned

  • Establish an in depth - inventory of European actors and their approach to and involvement in capacity building.

For this task, a detailed questionnaire shall be established by selected members of the WG and circulated by the e-MFP secretariat to all e-MFP addresses in Europe. The purpose is to specifically identify applied methodologies, concepts, materials, gaps, what is there ? Is it sufficient ? Is it known ?

  • Establish an inventory of best / worst practice cases of capacity building (learning approach, building local consultants’ capacity, what to learn from M & E assessments, what happens, what does not happen, why does a specific concept, process or methodology work  - or not work ? Building on recommendations, make better use of materials developed (public goods), etc.).

The collection of shared experiences of members of the WG shall comprise up to 20 cases which will be summarised in a case book with editorial notes on lessons learnt. The case book shall follow a structured approach and serve as a guidebook for management and staff of donors and implementing agents.

  • Organise an e-MFP workshop / seminar with participation of the community of practitioners and European donors. The motto is: making markets work – approaches and preferred models of capacity building.

The purpose of the event is to present and discuss best practice and thus provide an active input to European MF programmes and initiatives.
