"Midis de la microfinance et de l'inclusion financière" are conferences that are held in Luxembourg four times a year and that are dedicated to the issues of and changes in the financial inclusion industry.

This Midi will be dedicated to the female entrepreneurs of Africa. In Lomé as in Abidjan and Kigali, in an Africa ever more dominated by men, these women’s entrepreneurial task is threefold: they are domestic entrepreneurs first, then entrepreneurs of their future, and finally business entrepreneurs in their own society. In order to succeed, women must put in even more work as they overcome conservative scepticism as well as the barriers faced by all business owners.

Four African women will speak about their experiences and will share their understanding of a key issue in both Africa and Europe:

- Madame Félicité Kambou, Director of an agricultural cooperative in Burkina Faso;
- Madame Josée Mukandinda, Operations Manager of the microfinance institution UFC in Rwanda;
- Madame Marèma Bao, Deputy Director of the mesofinance institution COFINA, based in Côte d’Ivoire;
- Madame Maimouna Gueye, Principal Financial Inclusion Officer at the African Development Bank.

This Midi will be held in the exceptional presence of Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess and Mr. Romain Schneider, Minister of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, from 11.45 a.m. to 14.00 p.m. at the Banque de Luxembourg, 14 Boulevard Royal, Luxembourg.
